Ladies Down Under, 21-23 July 2022
After hitting the jackpot at Ladies’ Day in York, the fish-filleting foursome – Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda – are celebrating in style with the trip of a lifetime to the land of Oz. While Shelley dreams of luxury and glamour, the rest of the gang decide to go native and camp out under the stars at Uluru. On their way, they meet surfer Shane, hippie drop-out Charlie, traveller Danny and drag queens Koala Bare and Bondi Bitch.
Ladies Down Under is the sequel to Ladies’ Day, was produced by the Society in June 2012 with an almost entirely different cast.
Guest director Sabrina Bell brought this humorous but sensitive production to life and then had to step in to play Linda after Marie Hurding was taken ill, carrying a script cunningly disguised as a guidebook.
