28–30 November 2024 The Ghost Train by Arnold Ridley, directed by Dawn Hughes A motley group of passengers find themselves stranded in a spooky West Country railway station. First performed by the Society in the 1940s, so if you missed it back then, now’s your chance. 13–15 March 2025 Two one-act plays directed by Cynthia Hearing Escaped Alone by Caryl Churchill: Four women engage in casual conversations outdoors about pets, family and memories. It explores themes of friendship, isolation and the complexities of the human condition. A Gambler’s Guide to Dying by Gary McNair: The story of one boy’s grandad who won a fortune betting on the 1966 World Cup. When diagnosed with cancer, he gambles it all on living to see the year 2000. A tale of what we live for and what we leave behind. |
The Chelsfield Players perform two or three productions a year and on five occasions have taken their summer production to the Edinburgh Fringe. They rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Village Hall, Chelsfield, or in venues nearby.
