Grand National Night
by Dorothy & Campbell Christie; producer Harold Hart
22-23 April 1955
A racehorse owner quarrels with and accidentally kills his wife on the evening of the Grand National. The play was a success in the West End just after the war (the Kentish Times reviewer was mistaken in saying it was a play of the 1930s) and was made into a film in 1953; the same year it was broadcast as a radio play by the BBC. |
