The newspaper review hints at the schism in the Players that saw the departure of Brian and Pamela Matthew along with a few others, yet the Hollands and Hart families are still prominent as they had been thirty years before, and Ellen George (now Blatcher) is still involved, if only as box office this time. However, Norman Nash has established himself as producer, taking over from the Matthews who had produced every production since 1958. Breath Of Spring tells the story of middle-aged charity workers seduced into a life of crime through the sale of furs of questionable provenance, and its sequel Midsummer Mink was performed by the Society at the end of the decade. |
