NSFW
by Lucy Kirkwood, directed by Patrick Neylan
4-6 August 2016
#NSFW (Not Safe For Work) by Lucy Kirkwood is a satire on modern media set in the offices of lads’ mag Doghouse and upmarket women’s magazine Electra. The staff at Doghouse are cock-a-hoop at Carrie, the winner of their Local Lovely competition. Unfortunately, Carrie's father is less impressed, especially as it turns out Carrie is only fourteen. After the dust settles, one of the staff tries to get a job at upmarket lifestyle magazine Electra, only to discover that morality and principles are just as compromised as they were at Doghouse, if not more so. #NSFW is a ribald satire on the ethics of modern media, and naturally contains the strong language and sexual imagery you would expect in such an environment. Lucy Kirkwood is one of Britain’s brightest young playwrights, whose play Chimerica was a huge success in the West End in 2013. Crew
