Cinderella
by Brian de Salvo & Brian Matthew; producer Brian Matthew
14-16 January 1965
Having previously produced this popular panto in the 1940s, the Players returned to the genre for the first time since 1961 with their own adaptation of Cinderella, written by Brian de Salvo, who also played Buttons, assisted by Brian Matthew, who took the part of the baron. Matthew displays his customary self-deprecating humour in the programme, renaming the Village Hall the “Chelsfield Chuckle Palace”. |
