Fawlty Towers
by John Cleese and Connie Booth
29 July – 1 August 2015, Chelsfield Village Hall
24-29 August, The Space On The Mile, Edinburgh After a break of six years, the Society again took a show to Edinburgh under the Jim Slips banner. Several plays were considered and rejected before it was decided to reprise 2013’s Fawlty Towers, partly for reasons of timing: we had a 90-minute slot, including get-in and get-out, so two episodes instead of three fitted the bill perfectly. It would also be the summer show in Chelsfield, so, rather than repeat the earlier show, it was decided that two new episodes would be performed: A Touch Of Class and The Wedding Party. All the Edinburgh shows were sold out with highly appreciative audiences. On some nights there were rounds of applause after every scene change. |
