The Hollow
by Agatha Christie, producer Eric Hart
30 November – 2 December 1967
Agatha Christie’s murder mystery makes its debut on the Chelsfield stage. Anne Allocca, who made her Chelsfield debut as Doris the maid, returned as Veronica in the 2019 revival (by now Anne Kindley). The Kentish Times called the show “well presented” and “generally satisfying” with high praise for the set and costumes. Peggy Squire was “a joy” and Jennifer Freeman “gave one of the best performances of the evening”. The reviewer added that is was “a pleasure to see this company again” and “they deserve support”, perhaps alluding to the rift with the Matthews two years before that one newspaper speculated might lead to the dissolution of the Society. |
