A Chorus Of Disapproval
by Alan Ayckbourn, directed by Madeline McCubbin
28 November – 1 December 2007
Alan Ayckbourn’s play tells the story of a man dragged into an amateur operatic society (we can’t imagine what that might be like) and gradually being pushed up the cast list while navigating the social and sexual politics of amateur theatre – whatever those are. We in the Chelsfield Players have no experience or understanding of such things. Interestingly, the flyer was double-sided for a change, showing the Players’ performance on one side while on the other side mocking up the putative show depicted in the play. |
